The MLN Birth Story

2018-2020

Conception

If there’s one thing I know, it’s this: too many people walk into birth feeling scared, unprepared, or unsure of themselves. As a labor and delivery nurse, I saw it every single shift. And then I felt it personally when I became a mom.

This broke my heart, but it also lit a fire in me, and I knew I had to do something about it.

So in early 2018, just a few days before my son’s first birthday, I opened my laptop and started sharing everything I knew about birth with the world.

"Back then, MLN started out as a simple blog, and honestly that’s all I thought it would be."

Then I noticed something: social media was where people were turning for answers and connection, but no one was using it to teach about birth consistently.

So, I shifted from long blog posts to Instagram—creating quick, easy-to-understand posts that made birth education approachable, empowering, and even a little fun.

And with that...MLN became the very first birth education account on social media!

2020-2024

Birth

Like any birth story, labor was HARD! There were contractions, setbacks, and PLENTY of moments that tested me.

While I was building MLN, I was also walking through a season that shook every part of my foundation — personally and professionally. There were days I felt completely broken, questioning how everything I’d poured my heart into could unravel so fast. But sometimes life forces you to rebuild… and when you do, you find out just how strong you really are.

That season taught me what resilience truly looks like — and that it’s possible to lose everything you thought defined you, and still rise stronger, wiser, and more grounded in your purpose than ever before.

Somewhere in the middle of all that pain, I realized something profound: the story I was living was exactly why MLN mattered.

Because it’s not just about preparing for birth.

It’s about remembering your own strength when birth (or life!) doesn’t go according to plan. Because HELLO....since when does life EVER go exactly to plan?!

So, MLN became the place where I reclaimed my voice. It’s where I turned my pain into purpose, and where I transformed my struggles into something that could empower others.

2025 & beyond!!!!

Postpartum

Throughout allllll that labor, something beautiful was born!

Today, MLN has grown into a movement, reaching hundreds of thousands of people every day with content that’s clear, empowering, and full of heart!

MLN isn’t just about birth anymore. It’s about rebirth—about women finding their voices, trusting their strength, and owning their stories.
